The Edit: Topcoats

Whether camel or black, plaid or marled, single-breasted or doubled; it's topcoat season and I have my eyes on a million.

Today's color story is a warm one for the Holidays. I've done about a million posts recently mentioning my obsession with pink and today is certainly no exception. When I'm not going completely monochrome, tonal dressing seems to be the life for me right now. Preferably in pinks, maroons and rusts.

Last weekend, Erica and Davie hosted us in the Cape for a weekend of friends, food and laughs aka friendsgiving. Maddie and I snuck in a quick photo shoot in front of the incredible full moon on the water. It was a bit cold, but not in my new favorite sweater from Quinn. In the two weeks since I've gotten it, I've worn it almost everyday- it's incredible how a little black cashmere sweater can do that to you.

I love this video of Willie Nelson and his sons for John Varvatos. It tells their story of growing up around their father and other famous musicians on tour leaving a huge mark on their musical tastes.

On a road trip to Cape Cod last weekend [check back on the blog tomorrow for a post], we started the ever eventual 4 hour long playlist hunt. Moving through genres and eras, we started discussing what we were raised on, music-wise. Were your parents more The Rolling Stones type or Grateful Dead type? Beach boys or The Beatles? In my case, Fleetwood Mac, The Eagles and Air Supply were always the go-to's, of course The Beach Boys, The Beatles and the occasional Carly Simon were always thrown in there too.

So take a minute to take inspiration from John Varvatos, Willie, his sons, and his dope-ass braids.

One of my my favorite weekend activities is hitting up the flea for buried treasures. For me, it's all about the art of the find- I love looking through everything. I've been on the search for awesome rings for a while now and finally found some in Fort Greene on Saturday. Now, I just need about 10 more, naturally.
