Today's color story is a warm one for the Holidays. I've done about a million posts recently mentioning my obsession with pink and today is certainly no exception. When I'm not going completely monochrome, tonal dressing seems to be the life for me right now. Preferably in pinks, maroons and rusts.

Last weekend, Erica and Davie hosted us in the Cape for a weekend of friends, food and laughs aka friendsgiving. Maddie and I snuck in a quick photo shoot in front of the incredible full moon on the water. It was a bit cold, but not in my new favorite sweater from Quinn. In the two weeks since I've gotten it, I've worn it almost everyday- it's incredible how a little black cashmere sweater can do that to you.

I love this video of Willie Nelson and his sons for John Varvatos. It tells their story of growing up around their father and other famous musicians on tour leaving a huge mark on their musical tastes.

On a road trip to Cape Cod last weekend [check back on the blog tomorrow for a post], we started the ever eventual 4 hour long playlist hunt. Moving through genres and eras, we started discussing what we were raised on, music-wise. Were your parents more The Rolling Stones type or Grateful Dead type? Beach boys or The Beatles? In my case, Fleetwood Mac, The Eagles and Air Supply were always the go-to's, of course The Beach Boys, The Beatles and the occasional Carly Simon were always thrown in there too.

So take a minute to take inspiration from John Varvatos, Willie, his sons, and his dope-ass braids.

One of my my favorite weekend activities is hitting up the flea for buried treasures. For me, it's all about the art of the find- I love looking through everything. I've been on the search for awesome rings for a while now and finally found some in Fort Greene on Saturday. Now, I just need about 10 more, naturally.

On my search for rings, my new favorite accessory, I stumbled upon Oi Poloi. underwear as outerwear

Remember how TLC used to wear their underwear as outerwear all the time? Well, this is my version of that. Even though these luxe separates are made for under your frock, I couldn't help but wear the underwear as a divider between my pant and waist line for a totally 90s supermodel moment. The second skin shirt leant itself to this same vibe as the perfect minimal, structured yet slightly exposing basic that bring the two denims together.

PS. We lucked out with shooting this, right? That Brooklyn sunset!

the eisenhower jacket

I've always loved a good Eisenhower jacket. The style, cropped at the waist with arms longer than the torso, was created by Eisenhower who wanted a jacket very short and very comfortable. I copped this amazing one at one of my favorite new vintage haunts in Bushwick, Worship! This is the unintentional lesson of very casually wearing dress pants. I'm obsessed with these ASOS suit pants which really are the perfect shade of blue plus they are super comfortable. Why not grab a bagel in Red Hook in your favorite vintage tee with dunks and your dress pants?

new beginnings

I had an incredible first party celebrating What Goes Around Comes Around 's 20th anniversary last night. The party was amazing; the presentation a success. As I woke up this morning, I wanted to share these photos with a few other new beginnings. The new job meant leaving my old one, where my photographer and blog crush, Kristen, and I met and started our blogs around the same week nearly two years ago. While I am sad not to be shooting with everyday I am excited to share Madeleine, my roommate and new photographer, and I will be working on some bigger photo projects that I cannot wait to show you. And, on top of all of this, I finally bought a new camera!

I remembered this jacket as boxy and so heavy from previous seasons, but I got it out this week for an early morning coffee run and was immediately in love with it all over again. Vintage leathers can be hard to find in the right shape and fit, but I searched years to find this one which will be a staple this Fall.
