socks & boots

[Electric leatherback, Vintage shirt, Vintage Levis shorts, Timberland boots, Richer Poorer socks]

I'm having a sock crazed summer despite the heat. And one of my favorite ways to wear them is with boots and high tops. These very American red, white & blue pair are from my favorite sock company out there, Richer Poorer. I wore this outfit last week to Richer Poorer hosted Cuts N Shaves at Blind Barber for the launch of their new underwear collection. Imagine the same amazing prints from their socks on a boxer brief just the right length. For now, I'll just show you the socks.

sunset swim

[Vintage shirt, c/o 2(X)IST Herringbone Ibiza swim suit, c/o ASOS chambray shoes]

I've never been one to put on a workout-like outfit to hit the beach. Just like Cher Horowitz, I see cause for getting dressed for most occasions, including a beach day. This herringbone 2(X)IST swim suit has a retro, Single Man vibe that I can't shake. Naturally I paired it with one my favorite plaids from Maddie's closet in the softest yellow with little chambray kicks from ASOS. Let's hit the beach?

up in the sky

[Maddie's Vintage shirt]

Maddie and I headed up to the roof for a beer and a quick photo shoot after work on Friday. The sun was just going down over the Manhattan skyline with clouds scattered across the sky. There's something so perfect about this yellow most likely 70s plaid button up against the sky and clouds. Check back tomorrow for the full outfit (the bottom might just surprise you..... but most likely not really #fashiongoggled).

alpine summer

[Barneys floral shirt, Big Star USA shorts, Dr. Scholl's Shoes boots, Vintage collar bar]

I love going to see shows like Project and Capsule to see what's coming up for the next season and often times chat with the designer themselves. This week I got a chance to see what's next for Dr. Scholl's Shoes Spring 2014, including these awesome new sneaker boots in my outfit- I love the rugged yet urban feel, perfect for an alpine summer.

can't tell me nothing

[40 Oz NYC 5 star hat, Vintage shirt, Big Star USA shorts, Quiksilver shoes, Vintage sunglasses from the Brooklyn Flea]

This Monday, Big Star USA hosted a party at Brooklyn Denim Co. with GQ, celebrating the new collection and the new cover.  We noshed on BBQ sandwiches while drinking Brooklyn Summer Ale. One of my favorite things about the Big Star USA is the subtly. I'm obsessed with the graphic floral outline print on these shorts for that exact reason; they are one of the most understated prints I own, which makes them highly mixable. Can't tell me nothing (re: prints).

join the reformation

[All Vintage shirt, Levi's, Nike]

Spent the day yesterday floating through the racks at Reformation in soho with Natalie in my summer uniform, an outfit seemingly the same as the one above.  Nat tried on the most delicately printed, lady-like, slitted wrap dress, matching floral two pieces with the perfect Clueless gap between the tops and bottoms & the sickest cropped cobalt leather jacket. While we were there, we obviously took advantage of the photo booth, er gif booth, duh.

surfer days

[Vintage sunglasses, Vintage floral shirt from Top Shelf Premiumc/o Big Star USA khakis, Coach belt, Quiksliver shoes]

Florals, snap backs and high socks is my new uniform. But I seriously can't get enough of this dead stock print from Top Shelf Premium. I found them at the Long Island City Flea Market a few weekends ago and I gotta say they sell the best in vintage sportswear- think nintendo, high tops, jerseys and prints. Check them out here

Looking forward to a weekend in DC- hopefully I'll feel like wearing floral.

on thrifting plaids

[Vintage Gant button up, Vintage Levi's, Vintage Timberland boots]

After years of thrifting, you start to recognize which old school brands, most of which no longer exist, are a fit for you. My favorite for summer short sleeve plaid button-ups is by far Gant. With a near linen like feeling and the best plaids, they have become my go-to.

dazed & confused

[Vintage sunglasses, Quiksilver shirt, c/o Big Star USA khakis, Coach belt, Quiksliver shoes]

I don't know what's wrong with me, I can't stop wearing high socks with these, almost, slip-ons. This summer is slowly turning into the one where I turned skater/surfer bro with a snapback, backpack & thick socks on.

colorblocked stripes

[Quilsilver shirt, American Apparel shorts, Adidas Samba]

I'm going to through yet another wave of being obsessed with these American Apparel cord shorts (that I may or may not have approximately 6 pairs of). They are the perfect summer 70s look. But paired with my Sambas and man-bun, I'm looking a little confused- maybe a 90s soccer player who all loved the 70s?
