gucci palette

Cliche or not, the collections are my favorite time of the year. Whether an entire collection catches my eye, a piece I can't stop dreaming about or a whole look I'm dying to emulate, show season is destined to inspire. One of my favorite menswear shows this season was Gucci.

I am definitely in lust with the smartly cropped drainpipe pants, the luxurious bags carried football style, the softly tailored topcoats and especially the fuzzy shearling sweater and mock turtles. But nothing stood out to me more than the insanely genius color story. Navys and blacks melt into grays and dusty blues, dulled pastels are paired with rich subdued teals and camels for the perfect effect.  Now, where are my lavender pants at?

Battling the cold, back to the basics.

the grey-fit

[Vintage tweed coat, J. Crew sweater, Vintage Van Hausen shirt, Citizens of Humanity denim, Dr. Scholl's Original Collection boots]

It's no secret that Fashion Goggled, menswear and even womenswear has been drawn towards monochrome outfits- I've posted some many blue-sembles it's a bit ridiculous. The latest to catch my eye was the sleek, grey-fits trotting down the menswear runways in Europe last week. From the minimal Jil Sander on the left in the most pristine of pale greys with extra color in the shirt's matching marled fabric to the business causal gradient with a splash of street wear version from Fendi.

And did I mention all the oversized coats this season? Might be next..

a lighter palette

Since the shows began I have been consumed with color palettes. Re-examining them and getting out of the winter black funk, although much needed and comfortable, it's nice using colors again. This coincided with new Citizens in the perfect natural rock shade of white. They go with anything but they aren't as destined for disaster as pure white denim. Maddie and I stumbled upon this marbled church entrance that complimented the pink tones of ensemble. Now I present my color story.

menswear: fur-real

It's that time of year again. Menswear AW started last week in London and I gotta say, I think's going to be a good season. My number one favorite, not so easy to find, look is mens fur. The likes of Richard Nicoll, Prada and Fendi infused the material into their Fall menswear lines. Let's see how it plays out come Fall.

Sometimes you just got to let your hair down.

Love shooting most of my outfit posts in a singular Fiji Instax to savor the moment and to create this editorial of sorts.

Santa was good to me this year. And when I say Santa, I mean my godmother Pam. The gift? The leather jacket of my dreams, a vintage Schott Perfecto. The jacket is ubiquitous; seen on the likes of Marlon Brando to Jean Paul Gaultier. Here's to hoping for leather weather comes back soon! If not, time to get creative.

The joy of thrifting is finding this near perfect condition rust colored suede bomber from the 70s from less than a Jackson.
