a new era

[Quiksilver shirt, J. Crew pants, Tsubo Halian shoes]

It was last week at Kim's Brahmin & Vogue event that I realized how much I love to match recently. The socks with the shirt and the hat with the shorts or in this case, the three shade ombre of blues with white denim. I don't know if it's the heat but I think coordinated colors are coming back into my perspective. For now I'm feeling a little matchy-matchy, and I think I like it.

magenta polo

This outfit is sort of a blast from the past as I used to be a polo junkie. Back in private school, we had to wear collars everyday for 12 years straight, so I acquired the entire rainbow of polos over the years. And by rainbow, think the 128 pack of Crayola- obviously needed 12 shades of every tone with multiples of my favorites. Whenever I really need a day off from endlessly trying on different outfits, polos are my ultimate comfort shirt.

electric sleeves

There's something so perfect about a tonal set-in sleeve. I've been wearing a lot of t-shirts lately, but my standouts always seem to be one with a good structure behind them- a raglan, henley, etc. This one from Electric is made of the softest material and fits into my blue phase (maybe blue life?) I always seem to be going through.  I paired it with my new favorite sun wear, the green-grey marbled Grant from John Ruvin & Company. Oh, and check it out, I don't think I've worn jeans since summer started.

blue velvet

I've been looking for navy shoes for a while now and I've pretty sure I've found the perfect pair by Tsubo.  The navy suede desert boot has already received more questions about who makes them and where I got them than most will elicit. The sole is the perfect height with detailed tread cuts and there is a strap inside ensuring the tongue is smoothly and securely on your foot, essentially making them slide-ons. Needless to say, I'm in love.

cafe mornings

There's nothing I love more after a long weekend then hopping into a coffee shop early Monday morning to prepare for the work week. I spent a short, but lovely weekend celebrating my dear friend Jordan's wedding in Atlanta. It seems the weekends are getting shorter and shorter- hello Monday.
